The 2026 Cybertruck is the most capable-feeling and most technologically advanced pickup you can buy, and the riskiest one to own. For about $81,400 delivered you get 600 hp, a 4.1-second 0-60, 11,000 lbs of towing, the best payload of any electric truck at 2,500 lbs, and roughly $1,300 a year in electricity where a gas half-ton burns three times that. The bill comes due on the ownership side: it has been among the fastest-depreciating vehicles in America (roughly 30% of sticker left after five years), insurance runs near $3,900 a year, Consumer Reports rates predicted reliability far below average, and the stainless body means a fender-bender goes to one of very few certified shops. Buy it because you want this specific truck; do not buy it expecting a rational financial case.
